Katherine Sanders

Katherine Sanders has studied dance since the age of three. She began her training at the Montpelier School of Ballet in Vermont and continued  at a variety of  schools in the Northeastern U.S., the Caribbean and Brazil. She received her bachelor's degree in Dance with a focus in Dance Education from Skidmore College. More recently she has studied in the dance programs at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR. She continues her studies annually at The Ailey School and Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

Ms. Sanders has been teaching and choreographing for over 30 years. She has choreographed for more than 50 dance concerts and musicals, including The Wiz, West Side Story and Chicago . Prior to opening Downtown Dance she taught primarily at the college level, both at Willamette University and Linn-Benton Community College, as well as other children's classes in the Corvallis area. Katherine has taught a wide range of ages and styles throughout the past two decades. Her experience has led to the development of a solid and engaging dance curriculum for both children and adults. Her enthusiastic approach and expertise continue to inspire dancers of all ages.
